TRA Online TIN Service (OTS) | Online TIN Number Registration
TRA Online TIN Services (OTS) is the online platform that allows TRA to provide a self-service TIN registration to customers(Taxpayers) for more efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
The System is integrated with National Identification System for proof of individual identity during the registration procedures. So to apply for TIN, the System requires an applicant to submit a National Identification Number (NIN) that has been issued by National Identification Authority (NIDA).
Online TIN service allows the registration of Taxpayers and creates a full profile online. This is a Web-based self-service facility that enables Taxpayers to receive and print copies of the TIN certificate without visiting TRA offices.
How to register for Online TIN Services OTS and get online TIN Number
To register your TIN either for personal or business use follow the following procedure;
- Visit the official TRA website (www.tra.go.tz) and click Online TIN Registration. Or visit the registration site through the direct URL (https://ots.tra.go.tz) and click the "register" button.
- Fill in your NIDA number, Mobile Number, and capture (security word) and then Click the Next button. The phone number should be the one issued during NIDA registration, or else you will get security questions to prove your identity.
- Enter One Time Password (OTP) and Click Next
The Security Questions Authentication which you will be asked
If you provided a mobile number which did not issue during NIDA registration, you will get random security questions. The security questions relating to the details provided during National ID registration to prove if it is your National ID.
- Go to the official TRA website (www.tra.go.tz), under TIN Registration or direct URL (https://ots.tra.go.tz) and click the register button
- Enter National ID then click Next
- Enter Security Answers then click Next
